We have been studying about reptiles in Science. I knew salamanders were part of this week's lessons. She had a first hand experience with some.
H holding the turtle she caught in her net.
C trying to catch a grasshopper in her "hopper catcher". We caught mostly spiders.
E giving the "hopper catcher" a try. More spiders. H caught a ladybug.
Mr. Moore cooked some yummy food! This is the dining hall of the lodge.
H learned to play a new game...Monopoly!
H and her friend, Luke, decided they were going to do a Midnight Walk to wake everyone up. By 11pm I was ready for bed so I told them to take it an hour early. Everyone else had already gone to bed. Since H couldn't go in the Men's Room and L couldn't go in the Women's Room, they did it in the hall. I told them to NOT wake up the twins. So they used L's flashlight lantern to walk up and down the hall making very quiet howling noises and whistling. H laughed more than anything. Needless to say, they did not wake up anyone but had a fun time on their Midnight Walk. (This was in the dark hallway but my flash made it look lit.)
Sunday morning wake up time. They slept great. I was up at least 5 times in 7 hours. I had to keep moving the twins back to the ladder side of their beds hoping they wouldn't fall off. (I did have mattresses on the floor just in case.) At one point, I found E on the floor mattress with her head UNDER the bed. She doesn't remember a thing. :)
We all had a great time! They think they are experienced campers now. (I see a tent in our future...) We're already looking forward to next year. Maybe we'll take the guys!
We helped clean and made it to church in time for Sunday School.
(While we were enjoying our campout, the guys and friends were looking for shelters to stand under to avoid getting wet in the rain that delayed the football game for over an hour. They stayed until halftime then left to get the "little" boys home at a somewhat decent hour. By the way, Duke won!)

Looks like everyone had a good time!
Sounds like a lot of fun! Taking the classroom outdoors, not a better way of learning!
