Another School Year

Our homeschooling schedule is quite flexible during the summer. We took off the entire month of July then picked up 2 or 3 subjects the beginning of August. Our first "official" day of school was Monday, August 18 because that was the week of our first co-op meeting on Friday. I didn't get any photos of the kids at the table but here are a couple from the "first day".

E, C, H and B...at the end of the first school day...still smiling!

H made the KidStuf Worship Team for our Sunday evening family worship service at church. She has a DVD of songs she has to learn with hand motions. 30 minutes each day is devoted to practice for her while the other three have play time. They can always be found practicing instead of playing.

E's first co-op day projects. They are learning about maps. That's a map of the playground.

B's projects after his first day of co-op. We're at the beginning of the Middle Ages.

C's family timeline after the 2nd week of co-op. They are learning about past, present and future. You can see the wedding photo on the orange paper, then H's birth on purple, B's birth on blue, then twins' birth on yellow. It begins with an engagement photo and ends with a photo of C the first week of co-op.

H's projects after her 2nd week of co-op. I should mention that H's cursive handwriting is improving every day.

H and B are in the same class (Lower Grammar). Two of their teachers are the same as last year plus one more was added because of the class size. They love all three of them (and so do I!) and look forward to class each week.

C and E are in the Pre-Grammar class. I am one of the three teachers in their class. They like being in "Mommy's class" and tell everyone that Mommy is their teacher.

Check back each week to see what they are doing. I'll try to post right after co-op each week so I don't get too far behind.
