Forty

After much anticipation the big day finally arrived. The kids had cards and a gift waiting for me on my placemat at breakfast Sunday morning. Oh, and my mom's card. (You never open her cards before your birthday even if it arrives a week early.) After breakfast we went to church. Lunch time found us at Milton's Pasta and Pizza (I'm not sure about their name because their lunch buffet has BBQ ribs that I really like. The pizza is yummy too.)

My five blessings...waiting for our table
The surprise cake...it was yummy! (The tray doesn't look green in this photo but it is. See yesterday's entry for why that's significant.)

Happy Birthday, Mommy!

vanilla cake, cream cheese icing, strawberry preserves and icing in the middle, strawberries on top...it didn't last long!

Around 3pm the party ended and I started being Mom again. Hannah and I had our last summer book club then we went straight to KidStuf rehearsal. By the time we got home it was bedtime for the kids.

I can honestly say that I don't have to leave my home to know how blessed I am. Knowing I have Jesus and that He has given me a wonderful husband and four beautiful children makes me want to go at least another 40 years!

Thank you to everyone who sent cards and emails, and to those who called me to wish me a happy birthday. I'm blessed to know each and everyone of you!!

Happy Birthday!

40 isn't so bad. I just celebrated 42 yesterday. If I ignore my knees I feel just like I did when I was 22!

Hey, at least you got a cake. (In all fairness, I think mine is coming by this weekend.)

You won't even believe the other interesting thing that is going on in our lives. I can't even bring myself to post it on your blog, so you'll have to call me. :-)

Looks like you had a great time celebrating! If I am totally honest I will be 30 in a few short months and dread the fact that it seems to be coming oh so quickly!

Happy Birthday, friend. I'm so glad you were able to have a big celebration with your family. That cake looks yummy. Is Brent responsible for that?
