Merry Christmas!

We have enjoyed a nice Christmas at home this year.  I'll share a few highlights from the fifty photos we took in less than 45 minutes...

I actually took this one last night just before I went to bed around midnight.  I knew it wouldn't be this neat for very long once the kids were awake.  All four kids kept asking for their own "white paper" (i.e. copy paper) so they would not get in trouble for taking it out of the printer.  They also wanted their own construction paper and markers.  So that's what they got (our kids are so easy to please!) and I got each of them their own plastic tub to keep their treasures hidden when not being used.  (I really have been hanging around my friends, Christy and Eve, too long.  They are the plastic tub queens!)

Thankfully, no one was up at the crack of dawn.  We did get to sleep in a little.  Once we had breakfast everyone was ready to open gifts.

On your mark, get set...
GO!

"We're going to the circus!"  Thanks Pawpaw and Nana!!

H has been asking for a pocket knife for over a year.  We finally decided she was old enough to have one.  She was very excited!

B has his very own baseball glove.  Yippee!!

H gave Mom the towel she made for her first cross stitch project.  Mom was delighted H chose to give it to her.

H knitted her sisters each a scarf.

The TN Hanks cousins sent a box full of fun books and a music cd.

Ah...the big moment.  We wouldn't let them open the tubs until last.  They had NO IDEA what was in them.

When we vacationed in Williamsburg in Sept, Dad and Mom found Christmas tree ornaments of colonial people.  Each child received one with his/her name on it so they'll remember our vacation each Christmas.

C was very happy to have her "very own markers"!

Miss Laura surprised the kids by showing up at the Christmas Eve service at church.  She was here for Christmas morning.  The kids' celebration is lasting all weekend with Miss Laura.

Merry Christmas!

I looked at the very first pictures and thought - "look, four kids, four tubs, how quaint" - then I was referenced as a container queen - as my mom likes to say - "if the shoe fits!" :)
