Outrigger Island, Washing the Car, Leavin' Home and 12 Years

I haven't been able to upload photos for a few days. The problem seems to be fixed now. Here are some photos of the kids on the last night of VBS this past Friday. This was the twins' first year to go to VBS and Brock's first year to remember VBS. All 4 kids had a good time and were sad it was ending.
Emma and Corinne "marching in" at VBS commencement.

Hannah and Brock "marching in".. They had fun making crafts with the Outrigger Island / Hawaiian theme.

Certificates..."look Mommy, I got some paper!"

Hannah and Brock stood up front without any complaints. We've come a long way!

Saturday, all four washed Dad's car for a surprise. That water sure was fun!

The water from washing Dad's car made MUD. "Shhhh...don't tell Mommy where we are...oh no! There she is...with a camera! Quick! Make her laugh!!"

Miss Laura had to be in Raleigh for a meeting Monday morning so she spent Sunday night with us. Since we were planning to go to Virginia Beach for the holiday weekend, she invited H and B to go home with her. Here they are buckled in her backseat, ready for their adventure. They didn't miss home much until tonight (3 days, 2 nights later). Good thing Dad and Mom are headed there tomorrow. They've had fun at the beach, aquarium, and other fun places in VaBeach. This was their first trip away from home without Dad or Mom. Guess they're "big kids" now.

I don't have a photo from Sunday but Brent and I celebrated our 12th wedding anniversary. We enjoyed dinner at Outback Steakhouse while the kids caught up on some "Miss Laura" time. Outback serves Blue Bell ice cream. (It's a Texas thing.) Brent called ahead and had a yummy ice cream dessert planned for Sabrina after dinner. Homemade Blue Bell vanilla ice cream, strawberries and whipped cream...I should have started with dessert! :) He had also planned on us taking a carriage ride downtown Raleigh but the horses were not out due to the storm that was rapidly approaching the area that evening. It was still an enjoyable time celebrating 12 years! (Did I mention the Blue Bell?!)

Yeah, VBS....cute kiddos.

If any of you kiddos think you can take Uncle Shawny in a bible drill, bring it....i can find Leviticus before you can get your Bible open.

Oh - it is a big deal when the kids go someplace WITHOUT you for the first time! And they'll have fun VBS memories for a long time. Happy Anniversary!

Happy 12th and glad you got some Blue Bell.

Kiddos, ignore sweet Uncle Shawn. He's delirious from too much study of Tennessee law.

Love,
Aunt Heather
