We were excited for daylight to come so that we could see more of what was outside our window. We were also excited that the time changed in the Czech Republic a weekend earlier than it does in the US so we had an extra hour to sleep.

We were not terribly rushed to get ready for church since we had an extra hour. At the time Jennie suggested, I called the cab company. I didn't know it but they were having phone issues. I thought the lady was hanging up on me because she couldn't understand me. I finally called Boyd's phone to tell them what was happening. Jennie started calling them and finally got through to them. At this point, we were in a time crunch. We waited outside our apartment building and finally a cab arrived. But it was a car instead of a van and could not hold all six of us. He assured us that another one was on his way. Two of the girls and I got in that cab because Dad did not want to leave us standing on the street. But I took the cell phone without thinking to give it to him. After a few minutes, Jennie called to check on us. I told her what had happened so she called the cab company to make sure Brent and the other two had been picked up. Well, both cab drivers must have received a phone call from their dispatcher because suddenly our driver started driving like a race car driver! (Dad said the same thing happened to them.) Before I knew what had happened, we were pulling up at the church. Dad's taxi pulled in just a couple of minutes later. We had made it on time. By the time we figured out tips, the Hatchels were walking up the sidewalk. So we went into church together as planned.
We enjoyed worshipping at the International Church of Prague. After church, we went to a mall with the Hatchels for lunch. Then we went back to their house (girls in their van, boys on the metro) for the afternoon. This was one of those days that I kept thinking, "I need to get my camera out of my backpack and take some photos." But I was enjoying the conversation and just sitting there with friends. I didn't take one single photo of our kids playing together in their backyard. Or at the park. Or on their street. Or anything. Until we got to a Czech restaurant in their neighborhood for dinner...
There are 4 Freeland kids and 4 Hatchel kids (B made both of these photos).
Their oldest was a toddler the last time we saw them. Now she's a lovely 15 year old.
We enjoyed trying all sorts of cheeses.
I finally got some wiener schnitzel. I just didn't get it in Austria. It was still good though.
Thankfully, one of the kids snapped this photo of Jennie, Boyd, Brent and me. Good friend are friends no matter how many years or miles (kilometers) come between them!
The outside of the restaurant - while waiting on the taxi company again.
Once again they sent two cars so we had to split up. But this ride back was uneventful and we were soon all back at our apartment. We decided that we'd figure out the metro for our next day's adventures.
Back at the apartment, the twins decided to fix their big sister a bed on the floor with sofa bed cushions since she didn't want to share with anyone. It looked so comfy...
until she tried it! :)
