Sneakin' Up on a Century

Today was a day of celebration.
Today some gathered together to celebrate the 98th birthday of my grandmama.
That's just two years shy of a century!
It was a fun day of catching up with cousins I haven't seen in too many years.
And it was a fun day of watching Grandmama enjoy her special day.

The birthday girl with her cake.

The weather was beautiful to be outside for lunch.  Everyone sang "Happy Birthday" then enjoyed some yummy, yummy food and cake.

Some of the "girl cousins" doing what girl cousins do best.  Talking.

We let the boys join us for this photo.  (Some of the cousins had already left by the time we took photos.)

 Tony, Grandmama and Me

Grandmama with five of her seven children.
Aunt Novis, Aunt Betty, Aunt Rita, Uncle J.W. and Aunt Wilma
(Her oldest daughter lives in a nursing home and her youngest son is deceased.)

I met my cousin Jeremy's wife, Amanda, and daughter, Sophia, today.  Sophia is one of Grandmama's great-great-grandchildren.  (Remember, she's 98!)

My cousin, Melinda, with her beautiful family, Barry, Ethan and Eli.  Oh, the fights we fought growing up!  So glad we can sit and chat and not fight anymore. :)  Just for the record, she's 17 months older than me!!  (Love you, Melinda!)
