Pawpaw and Nana gave the kids (and Dad and Mom) tickets to the circus for Christmas. So we marked our calendar for the date and waited for two months. The day finally arrived!
We took the kids to the circus four years ago but H was the only one who remembered it, and she remembered very little. So it was fun watching them take it all in this year.
We went early for the "pre-show". It lasted about 45 minutes. Asia the Elephant is painting for us in this photo. When the "pre-show" was finished, E looked at me and said, "Is that it?!" The sweet girl had no idea what was next. She thought it was time to go home.
After the pre-show we made our way to our seats. We had GREAT seats! Here they are just watching all the acitivity with the clowns while the floor is being prepared for the show to begin.
(C is on the other side of me. Look closely.)
This show was different than any other circus I've ever seen. There was quite a bit of acrobatics from long pieces of fabric. I held my breath more than once!
This was pretty amazing. The platform swung back and forth while they did their acrobatics. I'm fairly certain some of the performers were not much older than my children.
The tighrope always makes me close my eyes!
This is one of my favorites...the human canon. Do you see the two women coming out of the canons? They landed on the mats. And I breathed again.
At intermission Dad pulled out a package of M*M*s for the kids. (Not sure why E is chewing on her hair.) They couldn't believe that there was MORE to come!
These guys (and one girl) would do flips from the swinging platforms and land in the middle. Look closely and you'll see one of them up in the air. Look to the right side at the top.
I always loved the elephants as a kid. Guess I still do because I took lots of photos of them. Thankfully, my children enjoyed them as much as me so it was worth taking all the photos.
There are women on the necks of these very large animals!
This was amazing to me. The little one on the end did make it up with the rest of the group. I just clicked a little too soon. And the women are still holding on...with one hand anyway.
B's favorites...the tigers!
Dad wonders if this man knows that his days are numbered.
Yes, more elephants. This was the finale.
Pieces of paper confetti dropped near the end of the performance. The kids really liked that.
(Who wouldn't enjoy seeing a mess made and not having to clean it!?)
E "catching" confetti.
It's almost over but they were all smiles.
Time to head home after a fun-filled evening at the circus.
Thank you, Pawpaw and Nana!!!!
