Celebrating a Birthday

Okay, today was one of those "I never thought I'd do this but here I am doing it" days.
Hannah was given a Webkinz for her birthday by her friend Alexa. Hannah named her pink pony WEBE (pronounce liked "weh-bee"). Well, today was Webe's 1st birthday. Thankfully, my friend Christy was willing to allow her four children to come over for a party. Her oldest two girls even brought Webe (and Hannah) some gifts. (I should say that Christy did not take her girls shopping. They found things in their rooms that they could "give" as gifts.)
Abby, Elizabeth and Hannah opening gifts

Isaac, Emma, Brock, Hannah and Abby (Lily and Corinne's heads are showing) decorating cupcakes (you can't have a party without cake!)
Brock, Hannah and Elizabeth decorating cupcakes (Elizabeth has a pink pony too. I think her name is Princess. Princess and Webe are on the table "watching".)

Hannah playing "Happy Birthday" to Webe while we sing. (What's a birthday party without "Happy Birthday"?!)

Playing outside. (I thought all 8 kids were in this photo but now I think Elizabeth is missing.)

I must say that when Hannah went to bed, she was one happy little girl. She had such fun "planning" the party. As Christy said just before they left, "It's the little things that matter." I couldn't believe I was doing this party all week but now that it's over, I'm glad we did.

Thank you Abby, Elizabeth, Isaac and Lily for joining us today! Thank you also for bringing your Webkinz to the party. We had fun!

(Thank you, Christy, for bringing your gang!)

I refused to give in to the craze a while back. I couldn't understand some moms I knew getting double digit numbers of the little critters as Christmas presents for each child... However, over the course of several birthdays we have accumulated quite a few as gifts from friends. And I have come to find out that the online games are actually quite fun. They like taking care of their little online pet and playing with their friends. (the ones they know of course) Even the boy has asked for one of his own (so he can play on the computer with it...). And as we've packed up most of the "fluff" items to keep clutter to a minimum as we get ready to sell our house, each of the girls' beds still has a stack of Webkinz on them. Some things can't be packed... And, I'm not certain, but I'm started to wonder if the little things aren't breeding somewhere... We do seem to have quite a brood collecting. Oh, and Heidi likes them, too...

Well, it's official. My kids are no longer allowed to see this blog. Here I had them thinking I am a fun mommy, and low and behold you had to go and BLOW me out of the water!

Triple kudos to you, Aunt Sabrina. Oh and happy birthday Webe (you little stinker). Don't be thinking you're getting any webe cousins.

Love,
Aunt Heather
