Salt Dough Maps

One of the (many) things that motivated me to join a co-op was the hands-on activities I knew our children would experience in a group setting.  As we study different continents, it seems at least one of our children make a salt dough map.  They enjoy making them every time and it never gets old for them.

Right now we are learning about the continent of Africa.  Last week H and B made a salt dough map.  H's class just invested one week on the project.  They also made an animal from the dough.  I was impressed with H's elephant.

B's class invested two weeks on the project.  The flags did not stick and I'm glad.  They have had fun taking them off then putting them back in the correct location.

The learning continues...

Thanks for your note on my blog, especially the encouragement!!! It took me awhile of reading up to remember, "Oh, this is Heather and Shawn's relative!" LOL!

I love all of the hs posts so I did a bit of reading! I guess I need to consider a co-op. I am just feeling overwhelmed with fitting it all in.

I broke down and signed S up for preschool. Haven't blogged about it yet. I feel at peace about it though. We have had a development that precipitated it though we had been praying about it for quite awhile. Anyway, I have to find a balance for all of the children's best interests, and I think preschool will be great for her.

Anyway, thanks so much for the encouragement! Hope your family has a blessed Easter!
